Dirty Janes Vintage Style
It was a delight to art direct and design the coffee table book ‘Dirty Janes Vintage Style’ written by Jane Crowley. I worked with photographer Elise Hassey to take readers into the world of Dirty Janes stallholders, customer homes and to tell Jane and Athol’s story. The book combines vintage ephemera & phots with gorgeous interior and portrait photography and is a treasure trove of design details.

Planitree is a the first global green marketplace for building and architectural products and services, founded by Jeremy Barnett. Their mission is to help regenerate the planet by making green building products and services available to a global market.
I created the brand, then extended this into conceptual graphics and animation as well as art directed the website. This approach ensured it was beautifully executed across all platforms without losing its playful, modernist essence.
This project was completed in collaboration with Nicole Smith of Tin Shed Marketing.
AWM Amaroo was created to provide employment opportunities for young Indigenous Australians through collaboration with Australian commercial furniture and joinery manufacturer AWM. I created the original AWM brand so it was lovely to extend this into AWM Amaroo. The final ‘o’ is the indigenous symbol for ‘seed’ as seen in the beautiful indigenous artwork AWM commissioned for the brand. This mark becomes a vessel, creating a dynamic brand mark that offers great flexibility across print and web platforms.
This project was a collaboration with Nicole Smith of Tin Shed Marketing.
The Fold is a Southern Highlands based directory that celebrates local businesses, attractions and all the riches that an area has to offer. I created a logo for them that extends on the directory concept by literally folding over the the letters, playing on the name and the idea of marking a page. This was extended to include a monogram icon to be used for app. branding, suggested font pairings and a unique colour palette.
Southern Highlands Community Foundation recently turned 21 and new Chair Nicole Smith decided to celebrate with a new identity. The brand consists of a suite of marks including the primary SHCF logo, the Give Where You Live tagline and the sub brand Highlands Heroes. These come together with a distinctive colour palette and imagery to create a unique, memorable and cohesive brand for the foundation.

Wautier Carpets founded by Chris Walters, represents some of the worlds leading carpet craftspeople in the luxury carpet sector. I designed the new brand - an elegant monogram, website and print advertising concepts that can be seen current and recent issues of Highlife and Ocean magazines.
Escape SH is a magazine celebrating the Southern Highlands region and all it has to offer. I took over the role as Art Director in Winter 2019 and undertook a redesign of the magazine in Spring. Type selection, heading treatments, a new illustrated map and the use of white space were all key in a more curated editorial look, highlighting beautiful photography by Elise Hassey and Abbie Melle. In April 2020 EscapeSH became a part of its much-loved sister publication Highlife Magazine, a change in format made easier by the newly established style guide.
Australian Workstation Manufacturers have undergone a major transformation over the last 12 months under the direction of Nicole Smith of Tin Shed Marketing. My involvement as Art Director involved re-designing a new logo, icon and a comprehensive style guide for all the company collateral which included a website, stationary, brochures, invitations, showroom signage, fleet of vehicles and a broadsheet newspaper. The new logo is inspired by AWM’s craftmanship, with the letters becoming a series of beautiful joins.

As Senior Designer at Indesign Media for two years I art directed and designed of all the media groups publications which included Indesign Magazine, DQ and Saturday in Design. I also worked with a number of Indesign's clients from the A&D community to come up with their own advertising campaigns. The role instilled a real love of publication design and a great knowledge of print production.
(The cover featuring Louis Kahn of the film 'My Architect' was my hardest fought... and it's still a personal favourite).
